Accessibility statement
How accessible this site is, what we know does not work well yet, and how to tell us about a problem.
This statement covers SalaryCalculator.org.uk. The site is run by Resolute Ventures Group Ltd. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it, whatever device, browser or assistive technology you use.
Our aim
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA where we can. Version 2.1 level AA is the minimum we hold ourselves to. We are a private company, so the public sector accessibility regulations do not apply to us, but we follow the same approach.
What we have done
- Pages use plain HTML headings, lists, buttons and links, so screen readers can announce them properly.
- Every page has a "Skip to main content" link as the first thing you reach with the Tab key.
- You can use every calculator and the main menu with a keyboard alone. The Escape key closes the All Calculators menu.
- Every input on our calculators has a visible label, and many have a short hint linked to the input.
- If you leave a required box blank or enter something we cannot use, a short message appears next to it. These messages are marked so screen readers read them out straight away.
- Results appear in an area that screen readers announce when it updates.
- Text is sized in relative units, so it gets bigger if you change the text size in your browser. We do not stop you zooming in.
- Pages fit screens 375 pixels wide (a small phone) without the whole page scrolling sideways.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are switched off and the automatic scroll to your results happens instantly.
- There are no adverts, pop-ups or cookie banners getting in the way.
What does not work well yet
We checked the page code of the homepage and several calculators, and tested at phone, tablet and desktop widths. These problems remain:
- Some tables scroll sideways on phones. Wide results tables stay readable by scrolling inside their own box on small screens, rather than reflowing.
- One menu link behaves like a button. On phones, the "All Calculators" item in the menu is a link that opens a panel, so a screen reader announces it as a link rather than a button.
We plan to fix these. We will update this statement as we do.
On 12 October 2026 we fixed the problems found in our first check: focus outlines are now clearly visible on every link, button and input, including FAQ questions; the closed All Calculators menu can no longer be reached with the Tab key; buttons that switch results between yearly, monthly and weekly figures now tell screen readers which one is selected; light grey text now meets the WCAG contrast level; heading levels no longer skip; and animations are switched off if you have asked your device to reduce motion.

Report a problem
If you find something on this site hard to use, please tell us through the contact form. If you cannot use the form, you can email us at hello at salarycalculator.org.uk.
It helps if you tell us:
- the page address (or the name of the calculator)
- what you were trying to do and what went wrong
- the device, browser and any assistive technology you use, such as a screen reader or magnifier
If you need the information on a page in a different format, ask us and we will do what we can.
How we respond
We aim to reply within 5 working days. We will either fix the problem or explain why we cannot fix it yet, and what you can do in the meantime.
